So, it's my birthday next Saturday... Yay! However, February is a very tricky month this year, as baby could come at any time and there are several dates I would prefer her not to arrive on (my birthday, Valentines day, the 29th of Feb- Leap year!)... though the more I think about it, the more I just want her to arrive now so I'm not too fussed.
Anyone with birthdays at the beginning of the year will know that it's a tricky time for presents too. Firstly, we've just had Christmas! Secondly, all the fashion in the shops are Spring/Summer and it's SNOWING OUTSIDE! And thirdly, there's not really much to do... made worse by the fact I could go into labour at any moment (Anything yet? Nope. Ok, I'll carry on...). However, it is time to STOP thinking like this. If you are born at the beginning of the year, think of it as a spot of good luck. Not only can you re-ask for anything you didn't get for Christmas, but with the new season clothing in stores, you can be one step ahead of the rest and invest in those staple pieces early!
This year is the year of the pastel colours, floral prints and feathers! Topshop (my favourite shop on the planet), has the most beautiful pastel shade dresses and cardis and brogues, all so cute for spring. Now all I need is the sun, some feather hair extensions (trust me, they WILL be cool), and a flatter stomach! Hehe!

That cardi is such a lovely colour. I like your plan to get ready for spring!
ReplyDeleteI was in the same boat as you - my 21st was the 8th of January and I didn't feel up to doing much (choices are somewhat limited when pregnant arent they? Especially when you're nearing D-Day!) but I'm loving your attitude!
Have a great birthday when it comes!! Xo
Great picks, love the playsuit and pastel dresses :)
