Color Bug: Available from Amazon for £13.95
I have been wanting to dip dye my hair pink for ages now, but didn't feel brave enough to take the plunge. Color Bug, by Kevin Murphy, seemed like the perfect solution. It is a wipe on, wash off hair colour which is so easy to use. You simply rub it onto your hair where you want the colour to show up and voila! Instant dip dye effect.
PROS: The color big is easy and quick. The colour comes out really easily and is bright and fun. If you rub it in a little more, you can make the colour fade a little giving it a more wishy washy effect, which is nice. It is also super quick to wash off in the shower, and my hair feels unaffected by it!
CONS: It is messy. Very messy. I got it EVERYWHERE. The towel I used was covered, my hands were covered, and unfortunately my clothes were covered too! It comes off so easily and I don't think it would last for a whole day, or even a morning. You also (as I found out) can't style your hair once the product is in. My hair went a little knotted and felt very dry and damaged (though once I had washed it out it felt fine again).
VERDICT: I love the color bug for a quick, non permanent dip dye effect. It's perfect for adding some colour to your hair without committing to long term hair dye. However, it does come off quite quickly and causes a bit of a mess. Not a good idea if you have cream sofas.

This is like the coloured hairsprays, non permanent and wash off when washing your hair but when applying is very messy, towel and hands covered and hair felt knotty/ratty with it on but i know if you brush it through slightly the colour is still there and wont come off on your clothes as youve gotten rid of the excess! :) I like this pink colour on you, looks so nice!!! xo
ReplyDeleteWOW. I am soooo tempted! This looks amazing on you. The only thing that worries me is the thought of it getting on my clothes - argh!

This is lovely! I say you dye it permanently :P xx
ReplyDeleteColor Bug by Kevin Murphy is a good product to use when you still have second thoughts of having it permanently on. Also, it's really easy to use and also happen to be affordable. And of course, as for the cons that you've stated about it being messy, you have to expect the mess because even if it were permanent, there's still that after-math of a few hair washes with colored water.
ReplyDeleteI've reviewed this also, but I had the purple one. You're right, it's incredibly messy :') You should dye it permanently, it looks great! Thanks for the comment on my blog btw, would you like to follow each other? (: xoxo

I really enjoy reading and also appreciate your work.Vionic Shoes
ReplyDeleteWhen I dye my hair I use conditioner to lighten up the color if it’s too dark. Works like a charm.
