My fringe is just disappearing every day! I think I should go and get it cut... properly! Trust me to go and get a high maintenance hair cut just after giving birth to my first baby! That's how optimistic I was about how much time I would get to myself! 3 and a half months on I have much more realistic expectations. Luckily I started the bedtime routine when Alice was about a weeks old and it means that it is relatively easy to put Alice down for bed at around 6pm every day. However, it is hard to fit in everything you want to do in those few precious hours before you can't stay awake anymore!

I bought Philip Pullmans Dark Materials the other week. It is SO addictive, and SO annoying that I can't simply sit on the sofa with a nice cup of tea and spend hours and hours just reading it! Bit I do like reading. Before, I found myself watching TV nearly all day long, mainly just for some background noise (I like to keep things fairly noisy in the day so Alice knows it's day time). It really makes you feel detached from the real world when you watch too much TV. A least when I read I feel like I'm doing something a little better for me!
