Dear Alice,
26 weeks old and I already see you as a 'big girl'. It's only when I take you out and about and see other children that I am reminded that you are still a little baby! You are just so active now and aware of what's going on around you. You have your own little personality and sense of humour. It's amazing to watch you shuffle about the room on your belly and say more and more little words (da and goo are your favourites right now!)
You love your food and are on whole jars now. That's it, it's time to start making you real food! I used jars to wean you because mummy is so tired and I thought it would be easier to establish your first tastes with jars. Now I will be cooking away for you. My first menu includes scrambled egg! Yum. You can almost drink form your beaker now... sort of. I give it to you every day to get you used to it and you don't seem to throw it on the floor so much now! We must be getting somewhere...
I have been baby clothes shopping for you last weekend. As it was a bank holiday weekend, there were lots of sales on (yay!) so I went a bit mad! We also bought you a highchair in preparation for your scrambled egg meals, though you are not quite there yet! I just can;t believe how big you are getting.
Although I am so excited to see you learning new things and growing bigger, part of me knows that I will miss your little baby days more than ever soon. I am trying my best not to get too stressed about things like when you wont sleep through the night, or take your milk, and just enjoy our time together. All too soon you will be slamming doors in my face and running off to uni... :(
xx
Ps. The winner of the £50 Joules voucher is......... CELIA! Congratulations, you lucky little thing you!
Can't believe how big she's getting! Are you moving Alice on to stage two foods now, or will you be pureeing the egg? It's funny, Aiden is good with finger foods, but he still need to get used to mash! Xo
