That Pink Lace Dress

Friday, August 10, 2012

Dress: Topshop (Sale ages ago)
Hat: Topshop
Shoes: Topshop (Old)
Sunglasses: Topshop

I love this dress, it's so easy to wear and great for this can't-make-up-it's-mind weather! The lace detail is really pretty too, and there's no way the little terror can pull it off me! Wearing summer clothes has become a bit of a challenge now I have Alice. She is a little monkey, literally. She clings to me like a leech, pulling at my clothes and hair and face! As you can imagine, with all their straps and details, summer clothes are a new hazard if I am to keep the smallest amount of dignity these days!

I know I always talk about Alice as if she is the perfect little angel who sleeps all through the night and is such a bundle of joy all the time. But she is a baby, and babies are hard work sometimes! Last night was one of those Arghhhhhhhhhhhhhh moments! Alice is teething, as I may have said already, but it's just driving her mad. I tried the calpol, I will try the other stuff (forget what it's called now), I've put teethers in the fridge, I've let her chew my shoulder, I've held her till she falls asleep (bad habit, I know). But still she cries and screams and scratches at me! I was so tired last night that I actually wanted to leave her to cry so I could get some sleep, which I feel so guilty about. I think it's just one of those things I have to see through.

Hope I can get some sleep tonight!

xx

  1. That's such a pretty dress!
Is the other stuff Ashton and Parsons teething powders? Boots do their own powders too. But they only seem to work when teeth are annoying them, not full on hurting them. What really works is neurofen - babies can get it from 3 months. It normally gives Aiden a mad half hour then he'll crash but it REALLY helps his teeth. And bickepegs are good too. They say they aren't to be used before 6 months though, but I'm not sure why (it's an all natural product that babies can bite and because it's really hard it soothes them). Hope Alice (and you!) get a break from teething pain soon!! Xxo
