Dear Alice,
Life is full of ups and downs little one, and you will soon find that out yourself! We thought we found another house... we didn't. House hunting is so hard. All I want to do is give you the perfect little place to live, with a garden and ducks and roses in the garden. Unfortunately, we have to grab what we can afford. We'll get there little one, I promise.
You have been sleeping till 6am every day recently (trust me, that's a lie in!) and mummy couldn't be happier. You are cutting down on your day time sleep too, which means more play time! And you are standing all the time. I'm serious, you will be walking next month. Food is all good too. You are now eating normal food completely. Weaning you onto jars was my biggest mistake... but we live and learn. Now you eat what we eat. You had veggies with cheese sauce for lunch today and mince with peas and tomatoes for diner. So did I! Haha!
Separation anxiety has definitely set in. It doesn't help that I am at home with you all day every day either! I can't leave you with anyone for any length of time without you screaming (literally screaming) for me. Night time is the worst though because you know I am going to leave the room so we have a screaming fit before bedtime. I think the best way to combat this is to change your bedtime routine slightly so you don't associate it with me leaving you. I also bought a few more bath toys to make bath time more of a play time.
But my biggest challenge will be switching your naps round. You sleep for 2 hours in the morning and half an hour in the afternoon. I think it would be better for you to have the longer nap in the afternoon, so you can get to bedtime without falling asleep in your highchair (however sweet it is!). So that will be... um... interesting. (For anyone who has tried to change their babies nap times, you will appreciate the absolute nightmare I am about to embark on! Wish me luck! Hehe!)
xx
Good luck with the nap switching! I'm very much baby led in this case, but I've had to wake aiden before and it is never pretty! Xo
