Dear Alice,
This week has been all about your sleeping. Mummy has decided you are now big enough to go to sleep completely on your own at night. Which means no more rocking, even for a little tiny bit. I give you a big cuddle, an even bigger kiss and put you down to sleep in your cot wide awake. I was very nervous about this, but you are just amazing. You chat for a little bit and then drift off to sleep. We only had one night of crying, which I think was because you were teething and needed mummy. Other than that, you have been doing brilliantly. You also tend to sleep better now, not waking up through the night at all and waking at 7am every morning!
Now that mummy is getting a lot more sleep at night, I have no excuse to stay indoors! We have been going out to the shops, on the swings, had friends over and even started some gardening (jumping in muddy puddles like peppa pig!) The sun has been showing it's face a lot more and the winter blues are leaving us! We are both feeling a lot happier this week!
We have also started dropping you off at nanny and grandads each Saturday for a couple of hours so mummy and daddy can have some time alone. We have mainly been doing the food shopping and cleaning the kitchen, but I'm sure we'll think of some more things to do! On Sunday we are looking at our first wedding venue, which I'm very excited about. And this weekend I will have to start getting your decorations together for your birthday party the following week.
1 years old. Wow.
xx
Oh my gosh! I can remember when she was born like it was yesterday. I remember feeling very fat and jealous that my baby still had such a long time to cook still! She looks so cute here with Dave. And how nice of your mum and dad to have her for a few hours on Saturdays. Glad she's sleeping better - if she'd like to share her tips with a teething Wilbo, I'd be very grateful! xxx
ReplyDeleteThat first picture is adorable, she looks like she's having such a great time! I cannot believe Alice is nearly one!! It's insane how fast the time goes. I'm so glad that she is sleeping better for you - it makes such a difference, doesn't it? Xo
