I can not tell you how utterly thrilled we all are that this nasty bug Alice has had over the weekend has finally gone! Hooray! It was just horrendous. To see your little baby sick and crying, and knowing you can't really do anything to help except offer extra cuddles and the odd spoon of calpol is the worst feeling in the world. We have had no vomiting since Sunday afternoon and her appetite is starting to slowly come back, though I am still being a little cautious with the amount she eats in one go and by making the food a little bland. And we are back on milk. I took her off of milk on the advice of NHS direct who advised me to stop all dairy products until the sickness subsides and she can keep a little toast down.
I am so happy to have my naughty, mischeivious little girl back! I don't even mind her waking at 5am! This morning I heard her chatting away at 5.15am and I just jumped up and went in to give her a hug and read story books. I guess I have been taking her health for granted a little. It's only when she was sick that I realised how lucky we had been to avoid illnesses (minus the odd cold) for just over a year!
And although I know this is the first of many little bugs to come, for now I am happy to say WE GOT THROUGH IT! Bye bye little tummy big, we will NOT miss you!
