Dear Alice,
It's been a while since I wrote you a letter. But I felt I should let you know what's been going on!
You are a little girl now. But you are still my little baby too. Although you are doing so much more for yourself, and trying to be independent, you still look to me for reassurance every now and again. I love that you still need a hug when you have woken from your nap, or a kiss when you fall over. Being needed makes me feel like a mum!
You are now 20 months old Alice. Wow. Where did that go? You are trying so hard to talk to me and imitate every sound. Sometimes you do say a word, or manage to string a sentence together, and those moments are utter magic. You have such a funny personality, always trying to make everyone laugh and entertain us. You often jump out at me from behind doors or after climbing into a box and find it hilarious to hide things down the front of your top. You are also very caring. A little girl fell over and the park and you were the first one there, asking if she was "k? kk?". You feed your teddies a little bit of your chocolate biscuit and put them to bed, stroking their heads to get them to sleep when they are tired!
Your favourite activity is painting (or drawing, or chalking or stamping...) and climbing. You tackle that climbing frame at the park with no fear! We go to the park every day we possibly can and you love running across the field. This also helps to use up some of that energy you seem to have gained out of nowhere too. Your sleep is very good now. You take one nap a day for about an hour and a half and you sleep from 7 till about half 6. You will probably always be an early riser as you don't want to miss one second of the day!
Your appetite for life is inspirational, and I honestly think that if more people saw the world the way you do, it would be a far happier and exciting place! When you discover something new, such as the leaves falling from the trees, it's like I am rediscovering it all over again. Everything is so new and fun and interesting.
Alice, I love you. And no matter what happens in the future, you will always be my girl.
