So yes! I am pregnant! After months of trying and a lot of heartbreak, we have made it past that magical 12 weeks and are expecting baby number 2 in August 2014. I found out just before Christmas, which was a great present but also very difficult to keep secret with all the family around! I had secretly hoped for a summer baby and am so happy my wish came true! I can already see future birthday parties in the park with plenty of ice cream...
Anyway. I'm getting ahead of myself. This pregnancy so far has been HARD. A lot harder than my first. I already have a bump and have suffered from terrible morning sickness (all day sickness!) since I hit about 5 weeks. It seems to have settled down a little now, though there are still a lot of foods and smells I can not stand. The sickness has made the first 12 weeks go fairly quickly though... every day has sort of blurred together and I find I have been going to bed earlier. However, with the weather being so rubbish at the moment in the UK I would be very happy to hibernate until spring...
I have already started preparing Alice for the new arrival. She knows there is a baby in my tummy and I have been taking her to playgroups and soft play a lot so she can begin to really integrate with other children. She loves babies and whenever she sees one she points and says: ahhhhhh. I would very much like to move her to a toddler bed next month and really work on the potty training too. Not entirely sure what to do about the dummy situation as I feel if I wean her off it now, she may start stealing the babies ones later on... But I shall figure it out I'm sure.
I am going to try to do one of these each week, but with a toddler to run after and sudden bouts of sickness, I can't guarantee! I am determined to fully enjoy this summer as a family of three, because it's about to get a bit crazy around this place!!
xx
