Places to Visit in South Kensington

Monday, May 05, 2014

One of our favourite places to visit in London is South Kensington. There are so many things to do there, you can really spend the entire day exploring! We love the fact that it is only a 20 minute train ride from us and a lot of the places are free entry. Over the next few weeks we will be sharing some of our favourite places to visit in London, including the best places to take young children. We feel so fortunate to live in such an exciting and interesting city, there really is something for everyone! Of course, as there is so much to do and see, we have broken it up into a few posts.

Places to visit in South Kensington:

The Natural History Museum- Free entry of course! If it's the dinosaurs you want to see, we would recommend getting there early (it opens at 10am) to avoid the long queues!

The Science Museum- After walking through the Space section, head right to the back of the museum for the best children's activities which will keep them amused for ages! There's a really cool cafe next to it as well!

The V&A Museum- SO child friendly and of course, completely free. In the summer, they have a massive paddling pool out the back (free!) and they allow you to bring your own food or purchase some from their cafe.

Ben's Cookies- Best cookies ever. EVER.

The Hummingbird Bakery- I LOVE their gorgeous little cakes with pretty designs.

Cafe Creperie- If your child loves crepes, they will love everything on the menu!

Byron Burger- Or if it's burgers you're after, there is a fantastic Byron Burger fairly near the station to eat at!

These are just a few of our favourite places to visit in South Kensington. You can definitely have an entirely free day out if you stick to the museums and bring a packed lunch (minus travel of course). More places in London to visit coming soon!

xx
