He's here. And he's perfect.
After a quick, straight forward and surprisingly enjoyable birth (epidural... amazing), he arrived at 5.24am Thursday 28th August. And luckily this time my placenta quickly followed! Hooray!
We took him home and spent the day as a three before bringing Alice home from nannies and introducing her to her baby brother for the first time. It was one of those moments that you just want to capture forever. And however you may feel about living life through a lens, I am so thrilled to have captured that moment in the film above. It's something we will look back on and smile about for the rest of our lives!
Alice has adjusted so well to having a baby brother. She loves being a big sister and as predicted, seems to have grown up over night! I think it's because she just looks so much bigger than Thomas. I am hoping this continues, though I am sure we will hit a few (more than a few) hiccups in the following few months. Even so, I am looking forward to it!
Unfortunately I was readmitted to hospital on Friday night with an infection. I got out Monday afternoon and am feeling much better now. It was a horrid and miserable experience and one i don't want to dwell on too much. I missed out on those first few vital days with my new baby and am desperate to fully recover now so that I can throw myself in and be a mum to them both. I must stress though that if you do feel unwell after the birth, do get it checked out. These horrid infections can take hold of you so quickly and it's better to be safe than sorry. Mine had already spread to my blood stream causing Sepsis, which left me very poorly, and that was only 12 hours after returning home from hospital!
Anyway. I am ready to begin life as a mum of two, and am so excited to share the journey with all of you too.
Here we go!!!
xx
