Fruit Kebabs with Viva Strawberries

Friday, July 03, 2015

Is there any fruit that reminds you of summer more than strawberries?! I don't think so. With the sun finally beginning to show his face again and the daffodils emerging from the ground, it's nice to know that Spring is just round the corner. This weekend, Alice and I made some delicious fruit kebabs using some gorgeous Viva Strawberries!

Viva Strawberries are a British bred variety of strawberry grown in the Huvela region of southern Spain and northern Morocco. They are sweet, juicy and full of flavour - very similar to a British strawberry, but are perfectly ripe from February to April, so there's no need to wait until summer to enjoy sweet, flavoursome strawberries. You can find them in Co- Op, M&S Food Halls, Tesco and Waitrose from February to April!

Alice loved putting the skewers through the strawberries! When she wasn't busy eating them! Haha!

I just think these would be perfect for children's parties or as a healthy snack when the sun comes out! Alice had a couple for her lunch :)

And these lovely milkshakes were made using a handful of Viva Strawberries and a splash of milk. (And a sprinkle of sugar for good measure ;) )
