Winchester Christmas Market

Monday, December 19, 2016

We went to Winchester Christmas market at the weekend. It was only an hour and a half away, but we decided to stay over in a hotel so we could stay at the market late and see all the lights! I don't think I've ever been anywhere more Christmassy, it was literally the most amazing place ever. All you can smell is Cinnamon and mulled wine, all you can hear are Christmas carols and brass bands playing and all you can see are twinkling lights. It's all under the Cathedral, which makes such a beautiful setting.

After the drive, we were all a little tired, so Thomas wasn't in his best mood for looking around the market. We managed to get into the Christmas spirit though and the kids loved watching the ice skating. I tried roasted Chestnuts for the first time, and I'm a fan!! (Despite them looking like tiny birds brains.. haha!).

After a sleep in our hotel, we went back to the market to buy some of their chocolates and candy canes. I managed to snap these before the kids went running off again (how anyone walks round calmly with a 2 year old I dont know!!). You can see more of our trip on my YouTube channel :)
