Adulting

Thursday, May 04, 2017

Adulting is hard work sometimes, right? For a few weeks, everything has kind of sailed along pretty smoothly for us over at the Bailey household. I've been doing the school run, cleaning, vlogging, doing bath and bedtime on my own with the kids and things have just been... dare I say it, easy? Aside from a few tantrums that is!

And then suddenly, I will have a week (much like this one) where everything is really really hard for some reason. I got a super awful migraine just before the bank holiday weekend (typical) and spent the weekend with a headache. Then on Tuesday I was called up the school because Alice had some weird spots on her arm (just insect bites!). On Wednesday I decided to register us all at a nearer doctors (we were at the same one we were at for our last house and it was a little too far to be honest), so had to phone and find ID and proof of address and all the grown up things I'm supposed to know how to do.

My to-do list is as long as my arm, and our family planner keeps filling up with deadlines and dates and ballet rehearsals and school trips and parties... and for some reason, this week I just found myself having to be an adult every day! Do you know what I mean? I've had to stay in mummy/adult mode and it's been really hard. I haven't been able to wind down and relax and just switch off and be silly with Thomas, because I've needed to be on top of things and organised and serious.

This being an adult thing is hard sometimes.

I don't really have a point to all this, I just thought I would blurt it all out because it makes me feel better to do that. Anyway, back to adulting. I can't wait till the weekend when I can drink some wine and not have to be on time anywhere!!

Haha! xx
