One the May half term, Dave and I were lucky enough to get a babysitter for one night so we could go and stay at One Warwick Park, a beautiful hotel in Tunbridge Wells.
We finally arrived at the hotel at 3pm, after our car broke down along a country rode! Not such a good start. But once we arrived, we were blown away by the friendly staff, modern interior and free sweets at reception (hehe!). We checked into our room, a lovely modern, neutral coloured double bedroom with one of the best bathrooms I've ever seen. Think double sink, massive bath and luxurious products from Temple Spa to use (which could be purchased from reception if you wanted to take them home!).
We decided to spend the day relaxing in the hotel and made the most of happy hour which runs from 5-7pm every day in the hotel bar. The cocktails were amazing and beautifully presented. We then made our way to the restaurant, Lamour, to tuck into an Italian style menu. I went for the butternut squash risotto, and I would really recommend it! The restaurant was modern but cosy, with candles on the tables and olive trees around the shelves.
After breakfast the next morning, we set out to explore the Pantiles, and were surprised to find they were literally across the road from us! They were as pretty and lovely as I had heard, with hanging baskets lining the streets and cute little tea and cake shops on every corner. It was very quiet, being a Wednesday morning, so we were free to really explore the place on our own. There is a live Jazz band who play in the street every Thursday evening, so if Jazz is your thing, this is the time to check in!
Tunbridge Wells is a beautiful, pretty little town and I wish we could have explored it more. We had a great stay at One Warwick Park hotel and a lovely (peaceful!) night away from the children and are so thankful for the opportunity to review it. Do take a look at their website for more details!
