The Pumpkin Patch

Friday, October 27, 2017

It was the second weekend of October. The sun came out and we were forecast no rain. So as quick as we could, we jumped in the car and drove to our nearest pumpkin patch! I mean, we're not that early... it is October! Haha!

We have done this ever since Alice was tiny, and it's become one of my most treasured traditions. Visiting the pumpkin patch and picking out a few pumpkins to bring home and decorate with the kids! This year we got a couple of smaller ones for the shelf in the front room too, as I thought they might make quite nice candle holders!

This won't be our first trip to the pumpkin patch. I am desperate to make some pumpkin spice soup, some pumpkin pie and a few more decorations for Halloween too. Plus, there is something so humbling about visiting the patch together, as a family. The patch was full of families, all outdoors, enjoying Autumn together, which was so nice to see!

Also, on the drive out, we saw all the Christmas trees growing ready to be cut down in a couple of months time, and my heart was doing all kinds of flips!!! Argh! It's only round the corner now ;) xx
